California Hydrogen Coalition: Federal Cuts to ARCHES Sacrifices Clean Air and Jobs in California
SACRAMENTO – Teresa Cooke, executive director of the California Hydrogen Coalition, released the following statement after the U.S. Department of Energy slashed funding for the ARCHES hydrogen hub in California:
“The federal government’s decision to revoke funding for ARCHES is the very definition of being penny wise and pound foolish. Instead of advancing American energy independence, this move slows down critical progress on hydrogen — a technology that's transforming transportation and other industries — compromises jobs, and leaves Californians breathing dirtier air. The consequences will be felt by everyone, including the more than 6 million Californians who cast their votes for President Trump last fall.”
